Well from the above YouTube clip, I think most people that will read this blog will know that's its from one of the greatest films 'Dirty Dancing.' Even if people have not seen the film, they will more than likely know the song straight away and associate it with the movie. Dirty Dancing is a romantic film which was made in America back in 1987.

The story is about a young girl called Frances ("Baby") who gets in a relationship with a dance teacher (Johnny) while on their summer vacation. Baby knows that her father would not approve of this so they keep it a secret. The show mainly involves a lot of dancing, and Baby ends up standing in for Johnny's dance partner as she falls seriously ill after an abortion. This is when her father realises who his daughter has been spending her vacation with and warns her to stay away from them. However, a lady who likes the Johnny sees Baby sneaking out of his room late at night. She was not happy with this so she informs management that Johnny was responsible for a theft that had happened the night before knowing that Baby would of course come forward and confess where they were to protect Johnny. Johnny ends up being fired but comes back at the end of the show where they do their final dance, which is the one in the YouTube video above. This is where Johnny says his famous line 'No one puts Baby in the corner' and drags her up to dance.

Back in 2004, Dirty Dancing 2 came out but to be quite honest it wasn't a patch on the first Dirty Dancing. The first Dirty Dancing is a girly romantic film but I must say I love it.It's one of my all time favourites. It's one of those films I love to watch when I'm sick in bed and would watch it over and over again.

I recently started watching the American TV comedy series, Greek. The show is about college life in Cyprus- Rhodes University in Ohio where the students participate in the Greek system. The series begins with a freshman engineering student named Rusty, who quickly decides he wants to change from being a geek and so rushes to get into a fraternity house on campus.

To Rusty's advanatage, his sister is Casey Cartwright who is the popular and pretty girl on campus and this helps him get into a fraternity. Rusty really surprises me, he turns out to be a solid pledge at the KTT house which is the Kappa Tau Gamma with his dorky charm. At the beginning nobody even knew Casey had a younger brother and she tries to stay as far away from him as she can as she thinks he'll ruin her image and she wants to become the next president of her sorority ZBZ, Zeta Beta Zeta. However as the series goes on, the two build a great relationship and help each other out. The show is all about brother and sisters, where everyone in the sorority has a big and little brother/sister, as you can see in the YouTube clip below.

The show also includes the typical drama you could expect at any college and especially when so many girls live together, for example, boyfriends cheating on their girlfriends with one of their little sisters, rich kids and not so rich not getting alone, rivalry against sisters at the sorority, new boyfriends and ex boyfriends getting jealous and of course the typical college parties where they all end up drunk and so many mistakes happen. I must say it took me a while to get into the show but I'm on season 2 now and I'm really enjoying it. It is a humorous TV show which would appeal to a lot of people and I would really recommend people to start watching it!

So I think every girl has nearly seen this movie at some point in her life, and if not I highly recommend that you watch it. It was only when a friend was talking about it recently that I realized just how much I used love this movie and sat down and watched it again. It's a great show to cheer you up or your just looking for a good laugh! Cher was the rich girl who lives in Beverly Hills and whose daddy used buy her everything she wanted. if she had a bad day at school, sure all she needed was the credit card and off to the mall to with her best friend Dionne to cheer herself up. I must say I used love the part where Cher would sit at her computer and see if her clothes were a match or mis-match, she had to be just perfect.

The girls in the show didn't have too much to worry about except keeping their grades up but the girls knew that only happy teachers give good grades so they convince each teacher that the other one is their admirer. The picture above shows Cher and Dionne planting a letter from the admirer.

Clueless is the typical american high school comedy which always involves some romance, and at the end of the show Cher finds her perfect man. I could watch this movie over and over again I absolutely love it. I must say I was quite surprised to see that a movie, that first premiered back in 1995 when social media was not very popular, has a Facebook page with over 238,000 likes.

I know I'v already blogged about Jersey Shore, but it's just something I feel I have to talk about again after watching the season 3 finale. As they say all good things come to an end and the show surely did on Thursday night in America when over 7.6 million people tuned in to watch the finale.New girl Deena replaced Angelina in this season. There was many highlights throughout the season including Jwoww breaking up with her boyfriend Tom and finding love at the shore, Snooki getting arrested and may more, but I think the main thing that stands out is the constant fighting between Ron and Sam. At the start of this season Ronnie and Sammie arrived together, as the happy couple, but not far into the season the regular fights, abuse and shouting matches kicked off again. I mean how many times have we all heard the both of them say 'I'm done' but then they make up and break up again.

By the end of season 3 Sam had been caught out in a lie which caused even more drama at the shore house, where she lied about a guy she was "friends" with, as can be seen in the photo above. Ron has told Sam he needs his space, and they left the shore in their own cars and as single people. Will they be back together by the next season in Italy? Who knows I'm sure we can expect many more fights if they are together or not! To be honest, I can't wait for the next season, to see what sort of surprises they bring us in Italy!

It was only recently I started watching 90210 Beverly Hills again as it was recommended to me by a friend. I used always watch the older series back when I was younger and  I had not realised that there was now a new younger cast and an even better show.

I'v only started watching the series from the last few seasons, but already I love it. In this season alone there has been some great story lines which include: Naoimi who is the popular pretty rich girl at school getting raped by her teacher, a young girl who dreams of being famous, and does so by stealing a dead friends song book and then another girl Emily who has just moved to Beverly Hills and tries to ruin her cousins life there. There are many other story lines these are just a few. It is a dramatic show with constantly different things happening, and I really enjoy watching it. It is a typical high school american drama but in a good way. I think I now prefer the newer 90210 to the older one and am going to continue watching it and would recommend it to any other 90210 followers.

Gossip Girl is an American drama which first aired on the screens back in 2007. The show is based in New York City and in particular the Upper East Side and portrays the luxury life of wealthy teens. It is set around social media where a mysterious "Gossip Girl" sends out scandalous blasts about the people of Manhattan. Anyone can text gossip girl to give her information to send out a blast. When she sends out these blasts all the teens get it which causes huge drama in the show, as the information is usually correct and a secret that the teens don't want anyone else to know about. The show really portrays the huge popularity of social media among young people today and how fast everyone can know what your doing at the click of a button.

In the above picture, are two of the main characters in the show; Serena and Blair reading a gossip girl blast. The show is dramatic and all about the wealthy, maybe spoilt teens, but it is a great show to watch, especially if your someone that was into the O.C before.

Yes, another reality TV show I find myself getting more hooked on everytime I watch it. This show is so popular, I would imagine most people have seen it before, but for those of you who have not seen it, the show is about eight Italian - Americans otherwise known as 'Guido's and Guidette's ' living in a house for the summer. They do part-time work at a local t-shirt store and enjoy the party life of heading out and partying all the time.Jersey shore is entertaining with the 8 housemates constantly joking and pranking each other. The show is full of drama, particular for Sammi and Ronnie, who met on the show when it started and who became a couple. Their fights contribute to a huge part of the show as they have now split and the fighting and drama they bring to the show is intense. I find their constant fighting annoying, but will still tune in every week to see what happens next.
My favourites in the show have to be Snooki, Pauly D, Vinny and 'The Situation.' Pauly D is well known for his phrases 'Cabs are here' and 'It's T-shirt Time.' The lads on the show have a specific time where they put on their t-shirts just the second before they go out so they wont get dirty while sitting around waiting to head out partying. GTL is another popular phrase from the show, which is gym, tanning and laundry. This is something they have to do everyday.

To promote the second season of Jersey Shore, MTV actually used social media marketing by creating a Facebook game and an iPhone App. It was a cartoon game where all the eight housemates became cartoon characters. The social game was for their Facebook members where it gave players pickles and tanning lotion to throw at one another in one-on-one battles between the reality stars characters. The iPhone app then allowed users to use Snooki's face on photo's that were taking on their smart phones. This shows how popular social media marketing has become for many hit shows.

Kourtney and Kim Take New York

I have just began watching the reality show 'Kourtney and Kim Take New York.' This is a spin off from their other shows, 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' and 'Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.' Kourtney and Kim leave their Los Angeles home, to go to New York, to open their third D-A-S-H store. They already have one store in Los Angeles and another in Miami. The series follows the girls around as they start to set up their new store. Only two episodes have been aired in the US at the moment, but after the first two, the show looks promising. If you are a fan of the Kardashians, this is a show you would love to watch. The Show itself has its own Facebook page with over 41,000 people who 'like' this page. Social media has allowed people to come together and leave comments regarding this show on a page, where everyone is interested in the same show. Below is a sneak peak at what is coming up in the season.

In all the Kardashian shows, Kim is constantly seen at her phone and 'tweeting' on Twitter. This shows how much celebrities use Twitter to inform their fans of what they are doing at every moment in time. According to the Twitter counter Kim has been ranked 7th in the Top 10 most followed celebrities on Twitter. Kim is known for loving drama and her Twitter updates seem to be no exception. Kim has over 6,289,372 followers on Twitter.

Fade Street

Reality television programmes seem to have taken over our TV screens over the last few years and one of the newest reality shows to hit our screens is "Fade Street." This is like an 'Irish' version of the Shows like 'Laguna Beach', 'The City' and 'The Hills' in America. It is based in Dublin and follows the personal lives of 4 young girls, Louise, Vogue, Dani, and Cici. These are the main people in the show but there is many others as the girls are followed around at their jobs, house and social lives.

Louise is an intern at Stellar, a magazine company, Vogue is a DJ and planning on pursuing an acting career, Dani is working at Dublin Ink and is hoping to become a tattoo artist, and then Cici is still at college at DIT and is a club promoter.  The show shows us the drama in these girls lives, including, nights out, work problems, college problems and particularly drama when the girls are out and about and meeting new people, and drama regarding boys of course. Wouldn't be reality if there wasn't problems like that!

The show has only been on our screens a few weeks, and to be honest it took me a while to get into it. I watched the first episode and didn't think the show was great so I stopped watching it. However I have began to watch it again and it is really starting to grow on me. It is becoming more popular now as the weeks go on, more and more people are beginning to talk about it.

So I recently went to see the movie "Little Fockers" and was expecting it to give me the laugh I was looking for. However, I was left disappointed, as the movie was nowhere near as good as the first two, which were "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers." The film has an all star cast including well known names such as Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Owen Wilson, Dustin Hoffman, Barbra Streisand and many more. The film begins with Jack having some health issues and rings Greg up who is the husband of Jack's daughter, to ask him to be the 'Godfocker.' As the film goes on, Jack begins to doubt his decision as he suspects his son in law is having an affair with Andi Garcia (Jessica Alba), who is a representative for a drugs company 'Sustengo.'

To find out exactly who this 'Andi Garcia' girl is, Jack uses the social networking site 'My Space.' This part of the film shows exactly how easy it is to find someone because of social networking today. Jack comes across pictures of the pair at a conference on her page and is convinced his son in law is having an affair, so he starts to follow Greg around. The film involves Greg and Pam's 5 year old twins, where the film leads up to their birthday and a party they are expecting to have in their new house in the garden, however there is complications along the way.

To be honest, I found the first two movies hilarious and was really looking forward to seeing this one, but there were not many funny moments in the movie at all. Would love to know what anyone else thought of the movie :)
